Position: Chef Stewardess

Classic Alaska Charters (CAC) is offering a
Chef position for the 2007 summer charter season. This is a well-paid,
outstanding adventure and great opportunity to experience Southeast Alaska's
Wilderness Inside Passage. The position requires moderate to high levels of
cooking ability and organizational skills. Excellent health and positive
people skills are a must! Outdoor interests and a tolerance of spectacular
scenery and wildlife encounters helpful but not required.
CAC conducts multi-day, overnight cruising and fishing adventures in Southeast
Alaska, primarily Misty Fiords National Monument/Wilderness Area, aboard our
40' motor yacht the Saltery "C".
Generally the group size is 4-6 guests, Captain, and Cook/Stewardess, for a
total of 6-8 persons to accommodate. The duration of each trip is 5 days, and
4 nights, with return to town to resupply on Fri-Sun. The following trip
starts on Mon AM., and so on. Specifically, the Cook/Stewardess is required to
inventory then shop for groceries based on a 5 day, 3 meals a day schedule.
They will be then providing cooking and serving services accordingly. Meals
are often prepared from part of the daily catch of fish, crab and shrimp, so
experience with cooking seafood is necessary! Other duties would be to
maintain the cleanliness of the galley, and minor deckhand duties as required,
and laundry on the weekends. Pay is $550 per week plus possible tips of an
additional $100-$400 for a total of around $650-950 per week. Room and board
is included. A bonus is included for fulfilling terms of the seasonal
commitment in a satisfactory manner.

Person must be experienced and/or have a
background with cooking moderately advanced cuisine that includes plenty of
seafood. An attentive and fun disposition is a must with emphasis on
hospitality and the ability to get along with guests and crew in close
quarters! Boating experience, love of nature, and a general outdoor recreation
background is helpful but not required! Must pass pre-employment drug test.
